Lily and Hagrid were bred three weeks ago. We’ll know on Friday (though Lily is raiding the waste paper baskets and eating tissue…this has been part of her prenatal diet in the past ). Lily and Hagrid are both CHIC with OFA Good Hips. Stay tuned!

Lily and Took’s pups have begun embarking upon thier new lives. These pups are all dark, coated, with dark eyes and sparkling personalities. Greg has a couple boys and a girl available–and two definitely of show quality. I can’t tell you how delighted I am with these pups!

There’s an old saying in the Ozarks: “the hurrier I go, the behinder I get.” I’m way behind in my chronicles of Luna’s babies as they venture out into the wide world. The new owners have been dutifully sharing stories and photos…Mr. Purple (now Finnegan) is home in Wisconsin, Mr. Cream (now Riley) has gone home to Virginia, and Mr. Red is preparing to head to Baltimore tomorrow where he will be called Dublin .

So many people have asked if it’s too quiet around here….the answer is anything but . Greg’s puppies out of Lily and Took have moved downstairs, so we’re back a dining room full (13!!) at night and I’m still walking with the “puppy shuffle” so I don’t step on anyone.

Included are some photos I’ve gotten back of Luna’s babies exploring their new worlds…keep those coming, folks! I love them!

In the midst of puppies meeting their new owners and getting evaluated and bathed and so on, Mary Marter took the pups’ uncle Hogan (D’Locks Honeydukes Hogan RN) to the Canadian national specialty and was awarded Reserve Winners Dog. They had a small entry this year, but for someone who only wanted a nice pet, Mary has really made great strides–discovering the fun of Rally and even venturing into the breed ring. Congratulations, Mary and Hogan!

Mr. Orange is Now Quaid

It’s days and photos like these that remind me why I do this….Gerae Peten in Goodyear AZ took three of her grandkids to the airport to meet Mr. Orange…I think the photos speak for themselves. The final one is Quaid snuggling up to his new playmate, Gerae’s Cairn Xolani.

Mr. Orange had a stressful day. He said good-bye to sister Shannon (Miss Light Blue) and then returned to the vet to be sure the little nip to his "winky" had healed (it had). He’s flying out to Phoenix tomorrow and is thoroughly stressed….

And sister Shannon (Miss Light Blue) went home to Spirit Lake IA today with Mitzi and Glenn Porter.

With Miss Fuchsia and Mr. Orange leaving tomorrow, it’s going to seem quiet around here…oh, wait, Lily’s puppies are moving downstairs!

Grattan departed a little before eight this morning with Luna and three babies–Miss Sea Green (his pick puppy AKA "Tosh"), Mr. Yellow bound for his new owners in Kentucky, and Mr. Green, who’s headed to Cincinnati. And of course Luna…my goodness, I’m going to miss her. She was splendid–even with two rather nasty bouts of mastitis. The perfect combination of dedicated mother without being obsessdively so, and happy to welcome visitors once her pups were up and toddling around. Everybody had a "farewell breakfast" courtesy of mom Luna early this morning, another quick lesson from Luna on "bite inhibition AKA I said enough’s enough!!!" and then Grattan loaded up the car with Greg’s help, and they were on their way. Indianapolis tonight, Mr. Green’s new home in Cincy tomorrow morning followed by a brief stop in London KY to meet Mr.Yellow’s new family, and then home at last to Charlotte.

Thank you, Grattan and Enzo, for trusting me with your wonderful girl! And thank you Greg Johnson for being the best friend and breeding associate one could ask for!
